Dear Governor Dayton,
I recently tried for the 8th time to get legal
service at a law firm for my troubles involving my family and my stolen
intellectual property.
I was first given information, fee scale, assurance that I
would at least get a reference, and the name of the attorney who would be looking
over my case to see if it was worthy of being taken on a contingency basis.
I received an email an hour later, from the lawyer I had my
introduction session with, Cortney Hofflander.
The email detailed differing information from my notes and referred me
back to Legal Aid…one of the agencies that had already denied me legal service
without giving reason.
The following email from Ms. Hofflander states that it had
come to her attention that Fredrikson and Byron was “conflicted out of this
case”.
I need to take my family to court on this copyright
issue. The State of Minnesota and the
rest of the World, cannot sit back and watch while Cinnamon is tortured.
I am a Human Person.
I am a citizen of The United States of America. I have full rights to legal services under
the law.
In the name of my son, Aric…Please Help me with this legal
issue and let’s get my family off the street.
Thank you for your attention to this matter,
Linda Ophoenix

Dear Courtney,
The email below is completely incongruent with the 20 minute
discussion that we had. I could open it, and when I returned the remainder of
the email was not reflective of my notes of our meeting.
The first line of text was visible in my inbox but I was
hacked out of my gmail I could open it, and when I returned the remainder of
the email was not reflective of my notes of our meeting.
We discussed that you and David West work in the legal area
of obtaining copyrights and that my needs would be better served by your
Dispute Resolution department that actually will pursue independent
investigation and prosecution. You gave
the the name of Lora Friedeman from that department and said you would be
passing my file along to her...the 6 page packet I came prepared with...to be
evaluated to see if it could be taken on a contingency basis or not. ( You had
said that your firm usually does not take cases on contingency and quoted
$300-$600 and hour and then said that it would have to be a case that was worth
it. I assured you that this one would be
and that is why I asked you to have it evaluated before I came to any other fee
agreement.
You also promised at the very least that you would be able
to make a referral. Legal Aid is not a
referral.
I have been REFUSED SERVICE for NO REASON by 7 other Legal
Agencies/Firms..INCLUDING LEGAL AID!
Is this the email you wrote to me Courtney, or did my uncles
and cousins hack it after the first line of text that was visible in my inbox?
Because if not, Fredrickson & Byron will be Number 8
And I could use a Witness, Courtney.
They are trying to erase me.
Seriously,
Linda Ophoenix
Linda:
The message below (time stamped 3:17 PM) is, in fact, the
e-mail I sent you yesterday.
Fredrikson does not take contingency cases except in unique
circumstances. Regardless, it has come to my attention that Fredrikson is
conflicted out of this matter and cannot represent you.
I apologize if there was any misunderstanding during the
meeting.
Thank you,
Courtney

Dear Linda:
Thank you for your time this afternoon during our 20 minute
introduction session. As discussed, Fredrikson & Byron P.A. charges between
$275-600 per hour; the firm does not take cases based on contingency fee.
Further, Fredrikson does not practice in the area of law where your needs may
lay. Based on your brief description of the matter, you might consider seeking out legal counsel
that specializes in family law. You might also consider contacting Minnesota
Legal Aid at (link).
M
Best of luck,
Courtney
